A Slow Stationery Lifestyle Shop inspired by Travel + Good Design.
We are Kim Hayes , stationer, along with shop dogs Meri and Hugo.
The shop just happens to be located in an Airstream in St. Louis. Why an Airstream? I fell in love with it's design, the joy of a tiny space, that it is made for travel and the freedom it inspires.

The Kabine (kah-been-uh), A Tiny Shiny Shop™, a 2004 Airstream Safari.
In December 2019 we found the perfect Airstream to move forward and opened it's doors in August 2020.
The original shop a 1965 Airstream Safari purchased in 2004.
There were a lot of bumps on the road that slowed our dream, but it only made the vision stronger.
We hit the road full time in 2016 and now we have a residency at AO & Co. in Tower Grove, St. Louis.
Why stationery? I love the tradition of sending postcards when on the road. I, also, loved going to the local stationery shop and 5 & 10 stores as a child. From those treasured moments The Kabine was born to offer you goods that assist in unplugging more, to connect in meaningful ways with others and yourself, inspire curiosity and are ready for travel.
All our stationery and travel goods are thoughtfully curated and based on our motto -
Find inspiration in travel, relationships, music, laughter and tenacity.
We believe less is more. You will discover the best we can find from Japan, Europe, vintage items and goods discovered on our travels. Other items are created in the Kabine Studio.

We like to say The Kabine is our happy place. Inspiration flows in the trailers and we take that opportunity by using the space to design and create some of our goods.

- All sales final. If a return is necessary, goods must be in original condition. Please remember we love slow goods from Japan, Germany and discovered on our travels, for example goods may be in languages other than English and would not consider that a necessary return.
